Surrounded by greenery, in the Mühltal just before Auffach in the Wildschönau high valley, lies our riding and family hotel Haflingerhof. Directly behind the house, our hotel’s own riding stables await with a wide range of riding options – ideal for anyone who would like to experience the Tyrolean mountains from the back of a horse.
For your enjoyable holiday in the mountains, we offer a pleasant feel-good atmosphere, good cuisine, a wellness area and, in summer, even a hotel swimming pool in the garden.

After an active day in the Wildschönau, a special place awaits you to truly arrive and unwind: our fireside lounge with views of the surrounding mountains of the Kitzbühel Alps. The open fireplace creates a relaxed atmosphere – perfect for a quiet evening, a good conversation or a shared game with the family.
Alte Stube
Our “Alte Stube” – Tyrolean flair rediscovered
Our Alte Stube combines Alpine architecture with carefully chosen modern elements. Decorative solid natural wood, the historic tiled stove from the early days of our house and the view of the garden with pool as well as the mountain scenery stretching inward toward Auffach make it a true favourite spot – especially for indulgent hours.

Billiards lounge & table tennis – entertainment whatever the weather
Even when the sun takes a break, our tastefully furnished billiards lounge is a wonderful place to linger – with cosy seating, a drink and plenty of room for sociable hours. If you prefer something more active, show off your skills with a game of table tennis.

Our new entrance area on the lower ground floor ensures a comfortable arrival and gives you a taste of the Haflingerhof’s charm the moment you step inside.
There are also practical extras for sporty guests:
- Ski room in winter for pleasantly warm ski boots
- Space for e-bikes in summer including charging facilities
- Dedicated space per room for leisure, riding and sports equipment

A little sustainability just isn’t enough for us
The Wildschönau high valley is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful, most traditional and most unspoilt valleys in the country. Preserving our homeland and your holiday home is therefore more than just a wish for us. It is a promise to you and to ourselves. That is why sustainability and environmental protection at the Haflingerhof are not empty buzzwords, and over the past few years we have already done a great deal so that we can look to the future with a clear conscience.
Of course, we also want to share what we do at the Haflingerhof to conserve resources and contribute to preserving a planet worth living on. You can find an overview of all measures here.
To make our commitment to living in harmony with people, animals and nature visible to the outside world and transparent for you, we were awarded the Austrian Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel in 2024.

- Heat recovery: waste heat from ventilation systems and cooling units is reused
- Environmentally friendly heating: heat supply from wood pellets and solar energy
- Green electricity: 100% of our electricity needs are covered regionally and sustainably

- Bus stop directly at the hotel (for arrival, ski bus and regional services)
- Local purchasing & investments to strengthen local value chains
- Vegetarian options every day as part of our cuisine
Waste & resources
- Eco-friendly laundry service with certified detergents
- Recycling & reusables: consistent waste separation and the return of empty containers by suppliers
